What do you get when you combine rhyming, tap dancing and a farm? The answer is the wonderful childrens book Tap Shoes and Horse Shoes. Farmer Will and his boy Bill live on a tidy little farm near a town called Hill. Bills a great kid, but hes as clumsy as they come. Farmer Will and his wife Jill have no clue of what to do. One day Jill sees that a dance studio has come to the town of Hill. She tells the teacher all about Bill, and suggests that he have a private session so he can learn a lesson. Bill then meets with Miss McNoys, who presents him with a shiny pair of tap shoes designed for little boys. From the moment Bill puts on the shoes, he feels like hes all brand new. Bill follows Miss McNoys every move, and before too long, hes startin to groove No more two left feet for Bill Tana Macy teaches tap, ballet, jazz and hip hop. She is also a farmer. "I am often inspired to write my stories and poems by the things going on at the farm and at the dance studio. Both of these are my passion. This story in particular came to me one day as I was cleaning the barn " Macy wanted to write about tap dancing, because she thought it would be unique.
