Author(s): Nigel Rushton

Travel

The purpose of this book is to provide a concise, practical and (hopefully) easy to follow guide for cycle tourers of New Zealand's North Island. The intention is to inform the users while still leaving something for them to discover. Probably the most radical change to this edition is a quick reference map that has replaced the Table of Contents, mainly because it is much easier to locate the required page. Other changes is an improvement to the maps, general text editing and moving some routes to new locations or redirecting them. The area covered are on the first page of each region. It includes routes, highways and some localities. Coastlines have been included this time as the author's computing ability is impoving. Each region is divided into sections and contain the following: The routes described are usually main highways, presumes them to be sealed and says so if they're not. When an alternative to/from the main route is available, there is a brief mention here with a more detailed account later. Major options have their own sub-section. The booklet also includes profiles (side views) and available services.
