David Hair won the Best First Book category at the 2010 NZ Post Children's Book Awards for his fantasy novel The Bone Tiki. His four-book series The Return of Ravana takes readers to India, blending Indian mythology and fantasy with a cast of young contemporary characters. The series has been published in India as well as at home in New Zealand. David has worked primarily in financial services, and also has a degree in history and classical studies. He lived in India from 2007 to 2010, but is now based in Wellington. Apart from writing, he is interested in folklore, history, and has a passion for football.
