Exclusive to Jason Books
From the archives of iconic New Zealand publisher Reed Books

A. H. Reed began publishing religious books in Dunedin in 1907 and was later joined in the business by his nephew, A. W Reed.

A.H. & A. W. Reed went on to put in to print the voice of an emerging New Zealand culture, publishing Histories, Natural History, Maori titles and a wide range of educational, practical and specialist books.

The A. H. & A. W Reed imprint ended in 1983 when Reeds was subsumed into international companies but Reed publishing continued under Reed Methuen, Heinemann Reed and later Reed Books.

When Pearson bought Reed Books in 2007 the Reed name disappeared altogether from New Zealand publishing, although the Reed list will continue under the Raupo Publishing imprint.

Jason Books has acquired a collection from the Reed Archives, some single and many multiple copies, from across the history of Reeds publishing in New Zealand

Some of these books have correspondence from their authors with A. H. or A. W. Reed enclosed.
Many also bear the bookplate from the library of A. H. & A. W. Reed.
